Lauren's First Birthday Party

I haven't had a chance to upload the video clips from her birthday, but will try to do so later this week. Lauren had an absolutely WONDERFUL first birthday! We had a lovely party where everyone was extremely generous and spoiled her rotten!! Here are a few highlights:

A special shout-out to my mom, Nana, for all her help with the cookies and the cake...and everything in between! She was so wonderful to have around....

Ladybug loved this special rocker with her monogram on it from Mimi and PapaFish! She's already mastered how to rock it back and forth, and even how to slide out of it and remain standing. Amazing!!!

CAKE TIME:

Lauren got her own special cake to dig into. She is usually so reticent about her hands being sticky, so she surprised us by immediately getting a finger or two full of icing. MMMMMMMM...did she like that!

Soon that finger of icing became a handful of cake...and an armful of icing...then the hair got into the action, and soon Mommy realized that perhaps her dress would need to go to the dry cleaners when it was all said and done! :) She LOVED it....as you can see below (pre-bath!)

Look at how pink the water turned:

It really begs the question, Why not white icing????

Hard to believe that just one year ago today our little Ladybug came wide-eyed and curious into our world, leaving our lives and our hearts forever changed.

Now here she is one year later, making us laugh, showing her indenpendence, and just enriching our lives. She's walking, talking, clapping, laughing, and....GROWING! She amazes us and blesses us more and more every day.

Happy Saint Valentine's Day

Another Creation by Mimi. Everytime she sees this dress she laughs and claps. Do we have a clothes horse on our hands???

It's the Moment We've All Been Waiting For...

....or maybe it's just me! At 4am this morning, after listening to Lauren talk to herself in her crib for almost an hour, I decided to go in and get her. I thought she needed a diaper change, so while I was getting her all situated, she looked up and me and said,

"Mama"

Amazing how those two syllables made me less tired and more patient as she squirmed around on the changing table!

11 month Portraits

Well, our little 26.5 lber turned 11 months in January and we took her to get portraits taken to mark the occasion. Wonder how tall she is? If she would stand still for more than 3 seconds we might be able to measure her! :)

Hard to believe she'll be one years old in just two more weeks...

Super Tuesday

Lauren fulfilled her civic duty today, participating in her first primary! She was so curious about everything going on around us, even leaning waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy back to check out the guy in the booth next to us. Voter fraud??

She was particularly intrigued by the sticker which reads, "I'm a Georgia Voter". May she always be so excited by the voting process and involved in the community around her!
