5 month Portraits: Our LadyBug

Hard to believe but our Ladybug is already 5 months old! Last weekend we took her to get her pictures taken while Aunt Sarah was in town. She was so helpful in getting Lauren to smile and giggle. Here are some more of our favorite shots:

Updates on my Aunt Melissa

Many of you have been wonderful enough to include my Aunt Melissa in your prayers. For updates on how she is doing, she has set up a blog through Caring Bridge, the link to which can be found on the left-hand side of this page under the title "Links". Please continue to keep her in your prayers and to send good thoughts her way. Tomorrow is her surgery and the beginning of the battle of her life!

My Baby and MY Mama's Baby

My sister Sarah came to visit us from Brooklyn, NY this weekend. Ladybug has been enjoying their time together, and Aunt Sarah babysat so that Todd and I could go to the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill concert at Phillips Arena. The joy of a built-in babysitter!!

Sunday Best

I just had to share...she looked so sweet today. She's constantly chomping on those fingers...or a toy...or a blanket...anything she can get into her mouth!

First Boat Ride

Lauren got to take her first pontoon boat ride on Lake Oconee this Saturday while we visted with the Huckaby's. We had to stop by the marina for gas, so we managed to sneak in some pictures while we were sitting still.

Here she is sitting up so well by herself while Daddy and Jeremy fill 'er up!

She takes a moment to ponder life with the wind in your face, and the waves crashing against the boat. Ahh! Bliss! She reminded me of how dogs stick their faces out the car window to feel the breeze....she loved feeling the wind, and our ever-observant daughter was constantly checking out the water, the shoreline, etc. Thankfully pontoon boats don't go that fast, so she was able to take in a lot. She really seemed to just love it!

What a day! After being out on the water, all that fresh air made Lauren just crash.

5 month Weigh-In

Once again we weighed our not-so-little LadyBug on the fish scales, and she came in at a roaring 20lbs! This puts her in the 90-95th percentile, yet once again! Such a big girl...we tried to measure her heighth as well, but she's a squirmy one. Best guess is 27 inches, or so. :)

Lauren's First Visit to the Pool

Lauren went to the pool for the first time a couple weeks ago when Todd's cousins were in town from Texas. She wasn't so sure at first, but once she got used to the sensation of the water she seemed to relax and enjoy it a bit more!

Here we tried floating. I tihnk Lauren may want to be in control all the time (where on EARTH would she have inherited THAT trait?!? ahem!) as she kept trying to sit up in the water.

Just the girls, taking a dip...

...then laying about poolside after our swim! :)
Such a serious face on such a serious child!

Sweet Dreams

Our LadyBug fell fast asleep in Mommy's arms tonight. It's hard to know who was more content with the snuggle time.

She looks so sweet...I could just eat her with a spoon!

Lauren's First Softball Game

Daddy's team, the Benchwarmers, played an early game Monday night, so Lauren and Mommy went to cheer our favorite catcher on...

As you can see, Miss Lauren was all ready to jump in if they needed her, ball in hand! From the look on her face, I think it's clear that she takes the sport quite seriously. Hmm...do you think she gets that from her Umpy???

All that cheering just plumb tuckered her out!

Year of the Pig

It is, somewhat unfortunately, the Year of the Pig, according the the Chinese calendar. So to commemorate her niece's birth, Aunt Sarah bought her a onesie with a pig on it...lest you think I am just being cruel about the girl's chunky thighs... :)

Our Little Firecracker

Hard to believe that six years ago today, Todd and I had our first date...and last year on this day we shared the exciting news that our family was going to be plus one! Now this year, here is our little firecracker, all decked out in her stars and stripes to celebrate the 4th!

Happy Birthday America!
